PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 11 July 2026
This policy explains what happens to your information when you use this website. The short version: no cookies, no tracking, no analytics. The only data we ever receive is what you choose to send us through the contact form or the newsletter sign-up.
Who is responsible for your data
Mile Arts, operated by Emil Gurbanov and based in Belgium, is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us about anything in this policy at [email protected].
What the contact form collects, and why
When you send the contact form, we receive your name, email address, optionally your business name and website URL, the topic you picked, and your message.
We use it for one purpose: to read your request and reply to you. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) and, for general questions, our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us (art. 6(1)(f)).
We never use these details for marketing, and never sell or share them with anyone for their own purposes.
Newsletter and subscriptions
If you enter your email address in the newsletter field in the footer, we use it to send occasional updates about our work and the web, and nothing else. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)), which you give by subscribing.
You can withdraw that consent at any time: every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us and we will remove you. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and does not affect anything else.
We store only your email address for this purpose. We do not add people who contact us through the form to the newsletter, and we never buy or sell subscriber lists.
How your information is delivered and stored
Contact-form submissions are delivered to our mailbox by Web3Forms, a form-delivery service acting as our processor. Their servers may be located outside the European Economic Area (United States); the transfer is covered by their standard contractual safeguards. You can read their policy at web3forms.com/privacy.
Our hosting provider keeps standard technical server logs (such as IP addresses) for security, as virtually every website host does.
How long we keep your data
Messages stay in our mailbox for as long as needed to handle your request. If your inquiry becomes a project, related correspondence is kept for the duration of our work together and the legal retention periods that apply to business records. Otherwise, we delete messages within 12 months.
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, after which they are removed from our sending list.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable format. Just email [email protected] and we will sort it out.
If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority at dataprotectionauthority.be.
